Corporate Matching Gifts FAQ
Some companies will match their employee’s donation to a nonprofit organization.
These matching gift programs are designed to support organizations that employees are passionate about, and to give back to the community and foster a generous work environment.
Once the employee makes their charitable donation, they can fill out a form to submit back to their employer for the matching gift to be processed. The company will handle the rest, and our PTA will receive the check directly.

How long will it take to receive my company match?
Anywhere from one month to one year. Inquire with your company about their payout dates and matching gift deadlines.
What does match ratio mean?
1:1 means your employer will match your donations dollar for dollar.
2:1 means they will contribute two dollars for every dollar donated.
.50:1 means they will contribute 50 cents for every dollar donated, etc.
Can my friends and family also contribute?
Anybody can set up a match donation at work. We are a registered nonprofit 501(c)(3), we show up on any register of eligible charities.
What are matching grants vs. matching gifts?
Matching grants encourage nonprofits to raise funds by matching ALL funds raised. This is a tremendously impactful opportunity to potentially double our donations and ensure seminar books and club budgets for years to come. Please bring us any grant opportunities on your radar.
Matching gifts incentivize employee giving with what is typically an equal (or greater) employer contribution in kind. Find out if your company engages in this sort of corporate philanthropy so your donation can double in impact.
What are volunteer grants?
Your company may be willing to donate money when you volunteer with our PTA! Also knows as “Matching Time Programs”, “Dollar for Hour Programs”, or “Grants for Time Programs”, 40% of Fortune 500 companies offer volunteer grant programs. Does yours?
